Patients call on Government for Health Literacy Framework

By Leanne Dempsey Policy News   |   18th Jan 2024

Today, we are proud to join Patients for Patient Safety Ireland and many other patient representative groups in calling on the Government to implement a single national framework on health literacy across all healthcare, education and community programmes.

Health Literacy is fundamental to improved health outcome. We want to empower everyone in Ireland with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to be active partners and advocates for their own care.

We need to advance, publicise and advocate to Government the need for proper health literacy in Ireland.

Patients for Patient Safety Ireland sent the below open letter to the Government.
