Walking is a great way to get active. Why walk? It’s free, low impact and is an easy way to give your physical, mental and social health a boost.

Going for a walk can:

 

Before starting any kind of physical activity, it is important to talk to your doctor. They can give you advice on how to get moving safely, and how often you should be active. This is especially important if you have a pre-existing condition or if you are in recovery from a heart event or stroke.
