Any post-primary school teacher can sign up to the CPR 4 Schools programme. School management can register their interest and send the information to teachers also. Email schools@irishheart.ie.
How teacher training works
Before training:
- We ask you to register your interest in CPR 4 Schools by emailing schools@irishheart.ie.
- We will check to see if your school is in the programme and make sure your school has a manikin kit before training.
- Our training is hosted online via Zoom in the evening time. We will invite you to our Teacher Portal, where you can sign up to a date that suits you.
During the training:
- The training takes up to 2 hours and will include a practise session. You will use your school manikin for this.
- The CPR 4 Schools programme is a video-led initiative and teachers will be trained in how to facilitate this using the videos.
- We will share ideas on how and when to implement the programme alongside resources to expand the programme.
- Our tutor, alongside the Irish Heart Foundation support team, will be at the virtual training and can answer any of your questions.
After the training:
Following the training you will be given access on the Teacher Portal to everything you need to deliver the CPR 4 Schools programme including:
- Videos to guide you and your students through CPR
- Lesson plan
- Student worksheet
- AED & Eircode lesson extensions
- Best practice case studies from our schools
You’ll find loads of ideas for how to implement the programme in your school in the Getting Started section.
