Despite the fact that cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Ireland and around the world, there is currently no cardiovascular plan in Europe or Ireland to best serve these heart and stroke patients.
While mortality from CVD has declined over the last two decades, it remains Ireland’s second leading cause of death after cancer.
The Irish Heart Foundation is dedicated to reducing the rate of death and severe disability from heart disease and we regularly lobby the government in relation to this aim.
