Watch the video to hear from teachers about the CPR 4 Schools teacher training
Any post-primary school teacher can sign up to the CPR 4 Schools programme. School management can register their interest and send the information to teachers also. Email schools@irishheart.ie.
How teacher training works
Before training:
We ask you to register your interest in CPR 4 Schools by emailing schools@irishheart.ie.
We will check to see if your school is in the programme and make sure your school has a manikin kit before training.
Our training is hosted online via Zoom in the evening time. We will invite you to our Teacher Portal, where you can sign up to a date that suits you.
During the training:
The training takes up to 2 hours and will include a practise session. You will use your school manikin for this.
The CPR 4 Schools programme is a video-led initiative and teachers will be trained in how to facilitate this using the videos.
We will share ideas on how and when to implement the programme alongside resources to expand the programme.
Our tutor, alongside the Irish Heart Foundation support team, will be at the virtual training and can answer any of your questions.
After the training:
Following the training you will be given access on the Teacher Portal to everything you need to deliver the CPR 4 Schools programme including:
Videos to guide you and your students through CPR
Lesson plan
Student worksheet
AED & Eircode lesson extensions
Best practice case studies from our schools
You’ll find loads of ideas for how to implement the programme in your school in the Getting Started section.
