Testimonials

Myself, my 3 kids and my niece ran this year’s DCM for the Irish Heart Foundation. The race was on my husband’s 13th anniversary. He died from a heart attack aged 50. Running for IHF gave us real focus knowing that the money we raised was going to a good cause – helping save hearts. It was the reason to keep going. Thanks to all involved.

Rose Thackaberry, Dublin Marathon

Running the Dublin Marathon for the Irish Heart Foundation was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. While the challenge of training for a marathon was daunting, the memory of my father-in-law who passed away this year gave me the strength and motivation to push through.

Knowing that I was raising vital funds for such an incredible charity made every mile worth it. The support from my family, friends, and colleagues was overwhelming and made reaching my fundraising goal a breeze. If you’re considering taking on this challenge, I wholeheartedly encourage you to do it. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.

Lisa O’Connor, Dublin Marathon

The support in the lead up to the marathon from IHF was great – from tips on training to information on nutrition and fuel.

It was lovely to get to meet the team at the expo. Passing the different cheer squads on the course really gave me a boost; their enthusiasm and positivity was definitely infectious! We were contacted after the marathon for a check-in too.

I would definitely recommend running for the IHF, it was a wonderful experience for a hugely worthwhile cause.
