Coming up in the Irish Heart Foundation July to August
Read MoreAs the 2019 International Rose of Tralee Festival kicks off later this week in Tralee, Co Kerry, we would like to wish Kildare Rose, Emer Fogarty and all the Roses taking part in this year’s event, the very best of luck.
Just two short years ago Emer sadly lost her father to a heart attack caused by an underlying heart condition and she recently raised €1,500 at a special event in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation.
From Kilcullen in Co Kildare, Emer is 24 years old and has a degree in psychology from NUI Galway.
She currently works as an Organisational Psychologist in Version 1, an IT Consultancy firm in Dublin. The key areas of focus in her role there include employee wellbeing and performance.
Sport has always played a big part in Emer’s life and she has played Gaelic football for her club St. Laurence’s, NUI Galway and for Kildare.
She said that the highlight of her sporting career was winning an Intermediate All-Ireland with Kildare in Croke Park in 2016.
Emer loves music and enjoys hiking, running, yoga, meditation and painting.
She also teaches yoga as part of her business venture ‘Rise Yoga’ and regularly delivers talks and workshops on a variety of wellbeing related topics.
The 2019 Rose of Tralee Festival takes place from Friday 23 to Tuesday 27 August and this year marks the 60th anniversary of the event which first took place in 1959.
