Be a Heart Hero this Valentine’s Day

By Seán Haughney 14th Feb 2024

This time of year, there is plenty of love in the air; love for your partner, spouse, family, and friends. But why not show love to some of those who need it most; those who have been affected by heart disease and stroke.

Experiencing a heart attack, living with a heart condition or the effects of a stroke can be life-altering. People can feel alone and unsure what to do. The Irish Heart Foundation can help.

With your support through a donation to the Irish Heart Foundation, we can be there for them, help provide information, provide support services across the country such as in-person support groups, counselling and a Nurse Support Line, create awareness of lifestyle factors, and provide life-saving skills such as CPR training.

This Valentines Day, you can give a lasting gift. There are various different ways you can donate:

By phone: Call us on 01 668 5001

By post: Send a gift to us at 17-19 Rathmines Road Lower, Dublin 6, D06 C780 and don’t forget to include your name and address details so we can send you a heartfelt thank you!

Online: You can visit irishheart.ie/donate to make your gift online where you can choose the option that’s best for you.

€10 a month can help fund free counselling sessions for heart and stroke patients.

€21 a month can help us train teachers and students how to save a life with our CPR 4 Schools programme.

A €50 once-off donation can help fund vital services for people like Andrew, who had a stroke just two days after proposing to his girlfriend Bernadette on Valentine’s Day 2021. Andrew accessed our Stroke Connect Service. The service offers all patients practical and emotional support, information and advice.

So whether you’re spreading the love by cooking a nice meal this Valentine’s Day, or spending it with that special someone, why not spread the love to the hearts that need it most at the Irish Heart Foundation.
