Welcome to the Irish Heart Foundation’s ‘Move More Walking Challenge’ – an easy to follow six-week exercise programme aimed to help everyone move more for the good of their health.

Each week you will be encouraged to include a new activity into your routine and the videos below will talk you through each one.

Week 1 – Warming up
Warming up is critical for prepping your body.
Week 2 – Warming down
Warming down allows the heart rate to return to normal.
Week 3 – Moderate Intensity
What is moderate intensity exercise?
Week 4 - Strength Exercises
Exercises to strengthen all the major muscle groups
Week 5 - Balance Activity
Balance activity is recommended for posture, and core strength.
