Take part in the Irish Heart Foundation’s World Heart Day Heart Hero 5K in association with parkrun Ireland

Where: At parkrun locations across Ireland

When:  Saturday 28th September 2019, starting at 9.30am

Why:  We are asking people to gather friends and family together to escape their chairs on Saturday, September 28th by walking, jogging or running in support of the Irish Heart Foundation at their local parkrun.

By taking part, you will become a Heart Hero, get moving for the good of your own heart as well as support people in Ireland who have been affected by heart disease and stroke.

How:  All we are asking is that you donate €20.  To make the donation, register with the Irish Heart Foundation and we will send you a t-shirt to wear on the day and training plans to support your preparation for the 5K.

This donation is to support the work of the Irish Heart Foundation and is not related to participation at parkrun events. We will send you further instructions by email on finding your nearest parkrun location.

This donation does not relate to you participating at parkrun which is free to everyone.

About parkrun: The first parkrun course was established in Ireland in 2012 in Malahide. There are now 90 5k parkrun events and 21 junior parkrun events in communities around Ireland. They are volunteer-led and open to people of every ability and fitness level, from those taking their first steps toward getting active, to experienced runners, to those who prefer to walk.

Once you register with parkrun you’ll receive a barcode to scan on the day to get a note of your course time. Although we are asking you to take part on Saturday, September 28th to support the Irish Heart Foundation, free parkrun timed events take place every Saturday rain or shine, so you can choose to take part every week and keep your heart healthy.
