The Irish Heart Foundation’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor course is aimed at healthcare providers who wish to teach a range of advanced cardiac life support courses.  

The objective of this instructor course is to train healthcare professionals to teach the following advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) courses which include skills they will be familiar with due to practicing them regularly in their own scope of practice.

They are as follows:

• IHF / AHA certified standard ACLS Provider Course
• IHF / AHA certified ACLS Recertification Course
• IHF / AHA certified Heartcode ACLS course

The ACLS instructor course takes one day and includes a mixture of lectures and small group rotations during which the participants are expected to act both as an instructor and a provider during different emergency scenarios.

Candidates are continually assessed throughout the day and  should have the appropriate skills and attributes to become an ACLS instructor.
