Health Promotion Officer (Physical Activity)

The Irish Heart Foundation is a community of people who fight to protect the cardiovascular health of everyone in Ireland. Our team currently is approx. 75 employees and up to 100 volunteers working towards the Foundation’s vision of a future where no hearts are broken by preventable heart disease.

The Role

The Health Promotion team develops and runs health and wellbeing programmes in various settings nationwide. We are passionate about reaching those most at need, finding innovative solutions to health challenges. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on some unique and high-profile projects working collaboratively within a team setting and with varied stakeholders. We believe in co-designing holistic approaches to health promotion to create meaningful programmes.

The role will predominantly focus on promoting physical activity with adult populations in underserved communities and providing expert support to fundraising engagement in various settings. The successful candidate will also work on other health promotion programmes as well as on occasion supporting the Irish Heart Foundation’s advocacy and patient support activity.

The suitable candidate will be passionate about health promotion, understanding people’s needs and working in partnership to design, deliver and evaluate creative approaches to supporting active lifestyles.

Salary: €36,000 -€38,000 + benefits

The role is based in the Irish Heart Foundation’s offices in Rathmines Dublin (office days Mondays and Thursdays) and involves national travel.  A full clean driving licence and access to a car is essential.
