12 Dips in December FAQ

• Can I start the challenge without my red hat?

Absolutely – you can start tracking your Dips the first day of December. When your pack arrives, you can wear it while you’re swimming to raise awareness.

• Can I start early/finish after?

Our goal is to 12 Dips between the 1st and the 12th of December but some people may choose to finish later in the month as we know the month can be busy.

• How do I track my Swims/Dips

The best way to log your Dips is on your fundraising page. This is how we will be tracking people’s progress.
For all your swims to count you need to post them to your fundraising page. You will earn your end-of-challenge ‘I Dipped in December’ tote bag by posting there for all your friends to see.

• Can I do more than 12 Dips?

Of course! If you want to set your own swimming goals – Go for it!

• How long is each Dip or what counts as a Dip?

Everyone is different so feel free to set your own goals for each dip.

Our recommendation is 30 seconds minimum in open water and getting your head wet is part of it.

• If I don’t have access to open water, what other ways can I get involved?

Everyone is welcome to experiment their own version of a Dip, whether it is dipping in the open water, dipping into a bathtub, outdoor tub, or even taking a cold shower, feel free to try something new for your dip and have fun!
