Coming up in the Irish Heart Foundation

By Ciara Mooney Heart News   |   23rd Aug 2024

The Irish Heart Foundation would like to share some upcoming news and events with you.

Champion women’s heart health this September and support the Her Heart Matters campaign

This September, the Irish Heart Foundation will run the Her Heart Matters campaign, with support from the Department of Health and the HSE, to spread awareness about the risk of heart disease and stroke in women.

1 in 4 women across the island of Ireland die of cardiovascular disease and 80% of premature heart disease and stroke can be prevented through a healthy lifestyle.

As part of the campaign, we will share a bank of resources for women, including valuable information about how to protect heart health, the symptoms of heart attacks, how women’s hearts are affected during menopause and about the importance of sharing the message – Her Heart Matters!

Join the Her Heart Matters conversation and spread the word to family, friends and most importantly, to those special women in your life this September.

Keep an eye on irishheart.ie for more information.

SAVE THE DATE: Join the Her Heart Matters 2024 Webinar on Tuesday, 1st October from 12.30pm – 1.45pm. We will have a fantastic lineup of guest speakers on the day, so be sure to check out our website over the coming weeks for further details.

Landmarks nationwide will light up red for World Heart Day and World Stroke Day 2024

This autumn, buildings across the country will light up red in support of Word Heart Day (Sunday, 29th September) and World Stroke Day (Tuesday, 29th October).

Our mission, in collaboration with our partnering venues, is to continue to encourage people to look after their heart health and to show support for the Irish Heart Foundation and the thousands of people fighting heart disease and stroke each day.

In Dublin city centre, iconic buildings such as The Convention Centre Dublin, the GPO, the National Concert Hall and EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum will be taking part in the campaign. Elsewhere in Ireland, the luxury Slieve Russell Hotel in Co. Cavan will be lighting up red, as will the International Rugby Experience in Co. Limerick, so be sure to look out for the red lights, take some snaps and share them with us on your social media on both of these special days.
