The case for raising the legal age for the sale of tobacco in Ireland
Join the Irish Heart Foundation for an online half-day conference that will bring together Irish and International tobacco control experts to discuss the health benefits and rationale of raising the legal age of purchasing allforms of tobacco, including e-cigarettes, from 18 to 21 in Ireland.
The conference will feature speakers such as Rob Crane and Amanda Turner from the United States Tobacco 21 organisation on how the USA introduced a federal minimum age for the sale of all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, from 18 to 21 years, as well as by Dr Matthew Sadlier, Consultant Adult Psychiatrist in the Mater Hospital, on the neurobiological effects of smoking on mental health, and many more.
