The response to the Mobile Unit from the community has been great.
The Unit made the trip south to Cork in January 2018 as part of the Linc in Cork’s annual health week. The Linc centre aims to improve the quality of life, health and wellbeing of all women who identify as lesbian or bisexual in Ireland. It was a great day and there was a lot of engagement with the local community.
According to Mary Cleary, having the mobile health unit was a great way to launch the centre’s health week.
“Everyone got involved in the local community and it gave people a great opportunity to have discussions about health. The staff were great with the advice and not at all judgemental. It’s an excellent way to get people more aware of their health and heart needs.”
