Meath Heart to Heart Luncheon

Go Red for the second annual Heart to Heart Lunch in the Headfort Arms Hotel on 9 February 2018 in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation.

Fast becoming one of the most popular events in the Meath calendar, the Heart to Heart lunch is not to be missed.

The keynote speaker is an inspirational young student and sportsman Cathal Joyce who was brought back to life with CPR and defibrillation after collapsing suddenly in his early 20s when his heart stopped.

A real heart hero, Cathal has since become a qualified Irish Heart Foundation CPR instructor and spreads the lifesaving message of CPR so more lives like his can be saved from cardiac arrest. In addition, Regina Tevlin, Navan Hospital will demonstrate CPR lifesaving skills & techniques

Every year in Leinster more than 15,000 lives are lost to heart disease – the number one killer in Ireland.

"250 families lose a loved one to heart disease and stroke each year in Meath"

Mairead McMeel, Irish Heart Foundation:

Heart disease claims a life every hour in Ireland but the good news is that 80 percent of premature deaths are preventable.

Mairead McMeel, Regional Fundraising Manager at the Irish Heart Foundation said: “Our Heart to Heart luncheon is a great event for a great cause. What better way to celebrate Valentine’s this February than by Going Red in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation and making life better for people affected by heart disease and stroke. Proceeds from the lunch will fund setting up stroke support group in Navan in early March.”

An event not to be missed – RTE presenter, Mairead Ronan will serve as the Master of Ceremonies along with Peadar Farrelly.

The event line-up includes a fashion show, auction, raffle and music. Tickets are on sale for €50 per person or sponsor a premium table of 10 for €1,000.
