Lord Mayor of Cork gets his Blood Pressure checked

Irish Heart welcomed the new Lord Mayor, Councillor Tony Fitzgerald with blood pressure.

Since 1990 – Irish Heart has welcomed the Cork’s lord mayors with a blood pressure check – to ensure they are fighting fit for the year ahead.

This year – Irish Heart nurse, Joan Keane checked the blood pressure of Lord Mayor, Councillor Tony Fitzgerald.

Heart disease is number one cause of death in Cork. But the good news is that high blood pressure is the biggest controllable risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

Right now in Ireland close to one million adults have the high blood pressure but half of them don’t know it.
