Cork woman who died on fundraising climb to be laid to rest

By

Majella Duffy (35) from Rathcormac, Co Cork, died last Friday while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in memory of her late father, who had died of a heart attack, and to raise money for Irish Heart.

Ms Duffy will repose at her home on Friday from 3 pm and her funeral will take place at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Rathcormac on Saturday at 1 pm.

Irish Heart knew Majella as a hugely giving person. She had an incredible determination, passion, energy and her generosity of spirit in giving up her time to support our cause in memory of her late Dad Mike. For that, we are hugely grateful.

Majella recently presented a cheque to our charity which was a mark of the great support she enjoyed from all of those around her and those who believed in her.

All staff at Irish Heart extends their condolences and deepest sympathy to Majella’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
