Balance Activity

Anyone over 65 should do activities that improve their balance 2-3 times a week.

As we age, loss of muscle strength combined with a reduction in joint mobility can lead to poor balance and an increased risk of falls. However, the good news is that there are simple activities we can do to improve our balance and it’s never too late to start.

Activities like Yoga and Thai Chi can help improve balance and there are a number of free videos available online and on social media. However, it is possible to improve balance by simply doing some easy balance challenges like standing on one leg or walking an imaginary tightrope.
